Registered Migration Agents can also represent you in the visa or any other process before the migration authorities, including assistance in gathering and preparation of necessary documentation, presenting arguments and evidence to best support your matter and communicating with the Department of Home Affairs and other institutions on your behalf.

Whether it is a short-term visit to Australia, strategic planning regarding an ongoing residence or tackling a visa refusal or cancellation, we can help you pursue your migration goals, making sure you understand its complexities and your possibilities, rights and duties under the Australian Migration law.

What are the reasons to choose Flatau Migration Services as my Registered Migration Agent?

At FMS we believe that good quality migration services are based on deep knowledge and understanding of the migration law system and procedures. The ability to correctly analyse the law and its interpretation rules is essential to be able to apply migration provisions to clients’ unique circumstances and as an effect come up with precise and optimal migration solutions for clients.

Our services are underpinned by extensive legal education and experience. We guarantee the highest professional and ethical standards when rendering migration services, so that you can be sure you obtain honest, transparent and comprehensive legal advice and will be able to choose the most advantageous and cost-effective migration pathway and services for yourself and your loved ones.

What kinds of services do you offer and what are the fees?

We offer consultations that comprise the analysis of your individual circumstances relevant from the viewpoint of the migration law and thorough research of the possibilities you have under the migration law to achieve your migration goals. On this basis we discuss your options with you, including timeframes and costs of each of them. We charge a fixed fee in advance, starting from $50 (depending on the complexity of each case).

We also provide comprehensive assistance during the chosen migration procedure, from the stage of collecting documents and information through the lodgement of visa/review application and ongoing communication with migration authorities until the migration decision is reached for your matter. We can offer a fixed fee, which can only be subject to change in exceptional or otherwise agreed upon circumstances.

For clients who would like to tackle skills assessment and/or immigration process themselves, we are able to provide advisory services, including answering queries, help with drafting documents. In such a case, the price for services is based on a fixed hourly rate for the time we spend on providing assistance.

We can also offer presentations or trainings on immigration options and processes, e.g., to Australian businesses interested in hiring foreign employees where there are skill shortages on the local labour market. The price is a fixed fee depending on the content, form and duration of the service required.

Our fees are separate to the fees required by immigration authorities, e.g., visa application charges charged by the Department of Home Affairs. As part of our services, we provide full information on such disbursements and can assist in paying those.

What other matters do you assist with apart from visa applications?

We can help with some of the criteria to be met prior to visa applications, in particular skills assessments, which are often needed to prove your qualifications and work experience meet the Australian standards of your occupation.

If your visa is refused or cancelled or you receive a notice of intention to cancel your visa, we will provide you with advice on the legal steps available to you and offer our further assistance e.g., in a review application or regarding revocation of your visa cancellation.

If your visa expires or you are left without a visa for any reason, do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can help you legalise your status as soon as possible. Visa refusals, cancellations or unlawful stays in Australia may jeopardise your chances for certain further visas so it is worth trying to tackle them as soon as possible.

We also provide assistance with Australian Citizenship advice and applications. If you wish to check if or when you may be eligible for Australian citizenship or need help in becoming an Australian citizen or confirming your Australian citizenship, we are here to assist you.

What languages do you provide migration services in?

Currently, we provide migration services in English, Polish, German and Spanish. We can communicate with you in any of those languages, if that can help make the immigration process more understandable and convenient for you.

However, our offer does not currently include certified translation services in the above languages.

What are the types of visas to Australia?

Australia requires everyone who is not an Australian citizen to hold a visa for entry and stay in Australia. It offers an array of visas, which can be divided according to various categories. There are temporary visas that allow a stay of a fixed duration, either allowing one or multiple entries to Australia, as well as permanent visas generally without any end date of the allowed stay in Australia.

There are visitor visas allowing for a short vacation or family visit, student and post-graduate visas for those wishing to gain high-quality education, Skilled Independent visas based on a points-system that allow people with skills, education and professional experience in occupations that Australia requires to live and work in Australia for longer periods or permanently, as well as employer
sponsored or nominated visas where an Australian business is willing to engage in a migration process to fill workforce needs with highly skilled foreign professionals.

People with successful business history and relevant assets are able to apply for a business visa, whereas those highly talented and recognised in a specific flied have a chance to participate in Australia’s Global Talent visa program.

Last but not least there is a choice of family category visas, where the visa is granted to those who have significant relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident, which includes partner visas (based on marriage, or de-facto relationship, including same-sex couples), child and
adoption visas, parent visas, carer visas and other.

Each visa is connected with their own unique criteria, validity periods and conditions, as well as fees and processing types.

You can read more about the purpose of various types of visas on our web page or get in touch to
check what visas could be applicable to you.

What is the expected time frame for obtaining a visa to Australia?

The processing times of particular visas vary greatly and range from even a couple of hours to even10-20 years! Visa processing times are subject to constant changes and generally published on the Department of Home Affairs web page.

The duration of your visa processing depends also on the completeness of lodged documentation and information you provide with the application, hence using a professional migration assistance may shorten your waiting time.

Moreover, there may be certain time-related criteria you will have to meet before you can lodge a given visa, such as prescribed period of work experience, residency, co-habitation with a partner or advertising a job position nominated for a visa.

All these time factors are essential for planning your immigration pathway and are always included in our immigration advice.
